The first Court Martial probing charges against former Army Commander and parliamentarian General (Retd.) Sarath Fonseka's alleged participation in politics while in uniform resumed its sittings this morning.
When the case was taken up at 9.30 a.m. prosecution concluded the examination of the second witness. The defence counsel was not present at today's session.
The cross-examination of the second witness will be taken up when the trial begins at 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday (10).
General Fonseka faces two military tribunals. The first court martial hear the charges against Fonseka's alleged involvement in political activities while in active service and the second court martial examines charges of contravention of military procurement procedures.
