Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka gets a new building


Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa ceremonially declared open the new building complex of the Sri Lanka Buddhist and Pali University at North Pitipana in Homagama Thursday (12).

The new building houses a three story library, lecture halls and a building for common facilities.


With the opening of the new building complex the Buddhist and Pali University will be elevated to be on par with the international standards. It consists of faculties Buddhist Studies and Language Studies.
The University which is under the purview of the Ministry of Higher Education is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
Vice-Chancellor Venerable Dr. Ittademaliye Indasara Thero, Ven. Davuldena Sri Chnanissara Thero, Ministers Susil Premajayantha, S.B. Dissanayake, Provincial Council member Gamini Thilakasiri also participated.
