Sri Lankan Epidemiologists warn of dengue reaching epidemic levels in the country

Sri Lankan Epidemiologists have warned of dengue reaching epidemic proportions given thhat 15,000 dengue patients and 85 deaths due to dengue have been reported from various parts of the island in the last six months.
Epidemiologists have told the media that the prevailing weather conditions in the country may increase the danger of spreading dengue in an epidemic level.
Statistics have revealed that dengue was fast spreading in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kurunegala, Jaffna, and Batticaloa.
Authorities have therefore requested the public to keep their homes, surrounding environment and places prone to mosquito breeding clean.
