Sri Lanka Cricket said Thilan Thushara is joining the national squad currently playing in the Caribbean at the ICC 2011 T20 tournament as additional cover for Muttiah Muralitharan who is recovering from a groin injury.
However, he will only be considered for selection if Murali is unable to take further part in the ongoing ICC World T20, the SLC said.
Sri Lanka is due to take on West Indies tomorrow in the 2nd round of the competition at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
