Tamil Nadu Government Appoints Committee To Look Into Nalini’s Allegations

Following Nalini’s allegations, Tamil Nadu government has appointed a committee heading top prison authority to interrogate into the allegations Nalini made.
Nalini who is serving life-time imprisonment in Vellore Women’s Prison in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, had wrote letter to Additional Director General of Police Mr. Shyamsundar alleging that her life is under threat from jail officials, according to sources.



The newly appointed committee is headed by Govidarajan, DIG of Prison (Coimbatore) would probe into the allegations Nalini made- the authorities trying to poison her food, assault by jail authorities.

Nalini is now imprisoned in highly securitised Vellore Women’s Prison.

According to sources, Law Minister Durai Murugan said the committee has a women prison official and is expected to submit the details shortly.

"Nalini has petitioned officials regarding some grievances and made some allegations. The committee was formed early this month following her complaints and grievances. This committee will verify the charges and submit a report soon", he added in the Assembly, reports say.
