Stalin seeks gas from KG basin for Tamil Nadu


Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin today met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and requested him to allot gas from Krishna-Godavari basin to the state.

On a three-day visit here to attend the Chief Ministers' conference, Stalin, son of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, met Singh on the sidelines of the internal security meet.

Speaking to reporters later, he said he asked the Prime Minister to allot gas from KG basin to the state and also briefed him about the problems being faced by Tirupur's dyeing industry.

The Deputy Chief Minister also thanked the Prime Minister for accepting the state government's invitation to inaugurate the newly-constructed assembly complex in Chennai.

"I thanked him for accepting the state government's invitation to attend the inauguration ceremony of the new assembly complex in Chennai," he said.
