Father and son discharged in Wembley Tamil gang war case

A KENTON man accused of wielding an axe in a Tamil gang war has walked free.

Prosecutors claim members of Wembley's notorious DMX group clashed with the Harrow Gang in Lancelot Road, on August 7, leaving one man with multiple fractures to his jaw and face.

Ajithkumar Tharmarajah, 26, of Chapman Crescent, was at the scene at the time of the attack and was accused of violent disorder as well as possession of an offensive weapon.

But the Old Bailey has heard how he was trying to defuse the situation and on Friday he was cleared of the charges, along with his father Kandiah Tharmarajah, 48, who had been charged with violent disorder.

Five men are still standing trial accused of taking part in a pitched battle and defendants, allegedly from both gangs, have been taking the witness stand this week.

The trial continues.

The above are said to be part of the DMX gang.
