Minister of Justice and Law Reform Milinda Moragoda has appointed a senior officer to redress grievances concerning Tamil Language issues in various agencies coming under the purview of the Justice ministry.
Senior Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Law Reform, Padmasiri Jayamanne will in future deal with situations arising from Tamil Language issues in order to find speedy solutions for problems faced by the citizens, the ministry said in a statement.
Minister Moragoda appointing Mr. Jayamanne said that certain specific instances have come to his notice which calls for immediate action.
“Very often the reasons given are the unavailability of officers who could function in the Tamil language as well as inadequate technical backing” the Minister added.
