Sri Lanka's entertainment professionals pledge support to President

Dec 13, Colombo: Sri Lanka's film and radio artists met President Mahinda Rajapaksa recently at the Temple Trees and pledged their support to the President at the upcoming presidential polls.

Veteran film actress Malini Fonseka urged the people not to bow down for any powerful hands and take an accurate decision in the upcoming election.

"What else one wants more than the liberation, the President is the one who is capable of developing the country too, so as a grateful nation give your full support to him," she said.

Popular film actor Ravindra Randeniya said President is the only leader who gave maximum sponsorship to the cinema industry in every way and ending the war is one of the greatest services towards the cinema.

Directors Sumitra Peiris and Somaratna Dissanayake, singer Neela Wickremasinghe, Rohana Weerasinghe, Jackson Anthony and several other popular artists also addressed the gathering.
