COLOMBO: Tamils visiting Colombo from Sri Lanka’s North and East and abroad would to register with the police if they were staying in the city beyond one month, police spokesman, Senior DIG, Nimal Madiweka, told Daily Mirror Online on Tuesday.
The rule had been relaxed with immediate effect, he said, but gave no time frame for it.
“Tamils can stay in Colombo for up to one month without registering themselves but if they exceed that period then they will have to register,” Madiweka said.
