Dhanasiri had made this statement with a group of young boys while attending a wedding at the Mount Lanka Hotel in Mt. Lavinia on the 18th.

He had said the President had summoned him to Temple Trees and said, “Dhanasiri, I trust you. Therefore, go to the BMICH now and remove all the photographs of the

General at the Army exhibition.” Dhanasiri had then looked shocked and the President had then asked, “Why can’t you do it?”

Dhanasiri had then responded, “Oh no Sir, I’m ready to even sacrifice my life if you ask me to.”

According to Dhanasiri, the President had then spoken to Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and requested fro a Defender jeep and double cab for Dhanasriri’s use and the Defender is now stationed at Sudath Motors in Dehiwela.

Dhanasiri had boasted that he had then visited the BMICH, removed all photographs of the General and taken them away in the double cab before burning them.
He had also observed that the President was planning on teaching the General a good lesson by removing his uniform.
